Sizes & Prices

The first step is to decide on the size and shape of your portrait. You may prefer a classic rectangular layout or a modern square format. If you’re unsure, I’ll happily recommend the best option based on your reference photos. Think about where the portrait will be displayed in your home—whether it’s a smaller piece for a side table or a statement artwork for the wall. The scale and proportions make all the difference. Before I begin, I’ll always confirm the details of your commission. If you’d like to change the size after booking, that’s no problem—just let me know as early as possible so I can adjust my schedule.

COMMISSIONS

My portraits are created on a commission basis for clients all over the world. I specialise in highly detailed, realistic coloured-pencil drawings of animals—from beloved household pets to farm animals and wildlife. I work with Faber-Castell Polychromos and Caran d’Ache Luminance pencils on hot-pressed Fabriano Artistico paper, chosen for their lightfastness and buttery blend. Every piece is hand-drawn and bespoke, capturing your animal’s unique character and making a beautifully personal gift for any occasion.

Reference Photos

To create a portrait that truly captures your pet’s personality, I’ll need a high-quality headshot photograph. This should clearly show your pet’s eyes and natural expression.

Tips for the perfect photo:

  • Use natural light — ideally by a window, or outdoors on a bright but overcast day (avoid direct sunlight and harsh shadows).

  • Get on your pet’s level to capture their face at eye height.

  • A calm, natural pose works best, but a treat or toy near the camera can help if they’re a little wriggly!

  • Send me several photos if possible — I’ll choose one main image to draw from, but use the others to capture their character.

If you’re unsure about your images, feel free to email me a selection. I’ll happily advise whether they’re suitable or guide you in taking new ones.

Upload your image (no screenshots, no blurry crops).

The better the photo, the more lifelike the portrait.
