My Story

I’m Niki Clifton, a coloured-pencil artist based in Liverpool, specialising in pet portraits and wildlife art.

Art has always been part of my life. I’ve spent several years studying and refining my skills through online art training, with a strong focus on realism and fine detail, and I work primarily in coloured pencils. I’m drawn to this medium for its softness, control, and depth — perfect for capturing fur, feathers, and expression.

Alongside my art, I’m also training in animal care, which naturally influences the way I approach my work. Animals have always been a massive part of my world, and I understand just how much our pets mean to us - they’re family. That connection is at the heart of every portrait I create.

I work from your photographs and keep the process relaxed and personal, guiding you through each stage from first enquiry to completion. Whether the piece is to celebrate a beloved companion or to honour a cherished memory, every drawing is created with patience, care, and respect for your pet’s individuality.

All my work is hand-drawn in coloured pencil using professional, archival materials, and features a clean, simple background so the focus remains entirely on your pet.
